Webinar “1×1 der EU-Förderungen”: from Seal of Excellence to ERDF funding

In an online session hosted by Business Upper Austria, Findustrial co-founder Martin Gruber explained how a narrowly missed EIC Accelerator grant turned into ERDF funding for the Findustrial platform, and what other companies can take from it.

Webinar with Business Upper Austria on the Seal of Excellence

On 14 October 2026, Business Upper Austria invited companies from the region to the second online session of its format “1×1 der EU-Förderungen”, an overview of EU funding options with a focus on current options for Seal of Excellence holders. In a 20-minute interview, Findustrial co-founder Martin Gruber walked through Findustrial’s own case: the application to the EIC Accelerator, the evaluation that ended about 20 places short of the budget, the Seal of Excellence that followed, and the ERDF funding from the state of Upper Austria that was built on it, at nearly the amount originally requested from the EIC.

The takeaway for the audience: an EIC application can pay off even without an EIC grant, provided the proposal is strong enough for the Seal and the company knows which regional programmes accept it. Martin also shared what Findustrial would do differently in a second application and how the funded platform project is progressing.

Event: online format “1×1 der EU-Förderungen” by Business Upper Austria, sessions on 3 September and 14 October 2026, 10:00 to 11:00, MS Teams. Interview partner: Martin Gruber, Findustrial.
