Komptech launches Equipment-as-a-Service with Findustrial

Komptech is expanding its business model: with Equipment-as-a-Service, customers no longer pay for machine ownership - but for actual usage. Powered by Findustrial.

From ownership to usage-based access

With a portfolio of more than 50 machines across shredding, screening, separation, and composting, Komptech offers one of the most comprehensive product ranges in the recycling sector. Equipment-as-a-Service adds a new layer to this portfolio.

Instead of committing capital to ownership, customers align costs directly with machine utilization. This improves cost transparency and supports more flexible operational planning – especially in environments with fluctuating demand.

By combining purchase, used equipment, rental, and now Equipment-as-a-Service, we can respond much more precisely to individual customer requirements. Our focus is always on the actual operational needs. In many cases, a partnership starts with rental and evolves over time. With multiple models available, we can define the next logical step together with the customer.”

Aligning financing with real usage

The core logic is simple: machines are no longer financed upfront but paid for as they generate value.

This reduces financial risk and shifts investment decisions from long-term commitments to operational needs. Companies can start with a lower entry barrier and scale usage as demand evolves – without locking capital into assets.

For Komptech, this creates a more adaptive commercial setup: different models can be combined depending on customer requirements, allowing a structured transition from rental to long-term usage models or ownership where relevant.

Partnership with Findustrial

Findustrial provides the digital and financial infrastructure behind the model.

The platform connects manufacturers, operators, and financing partners while managing usage tracking, billing, and refinancing. This creates full financial transparency across the lifecycle of the asset – from deployment to payment flows.

For Komptech, this means the operational focus remains unchanged: machines, service, and customer relationships stay in-house, while the financial and transactional layer is handled through Findustrial’s system.

“With our platform, we enable manufacturers like Komptech to build and operate usage-based models in a structured way. We connect all stakeholders and create transparency across usage, billing, and financing"

Designed as a blueprint for international markets

The initial rollout focuses on Austria and Germany, where Komptech operates with established service and sales structures. This proximity to customers allows continuous feedback and iterative refinement of the model.

In the next step, Komptech plans to scale the approach internationally. This includes structured knowledge transfer, training programs, and operational guidelines for sales partners in other markets.

At the same time, Equipment-as-a-Service can help reduce market entry barriers. Usage-based deployment models make it easier to operate in regions with different regulatory or economic conditions, without requiring immediate asset ownership.

A more flexible approach to equipment financing

Equipment-as-a-Service complements existing models and enables a more flexible, demand-driven approach to equipment access.

For customers, this means lower upfront investment and improved financial control.
For Komptech, it creates a scalable model that adapts to different customer situations and market conditions.

The introduction of Equipment-as-a-Service marks a clear step toward more flexible and transparent industrial business models.
