Findustrial and ACP Digital partner to help manufacturers build pay-per-use business models

Findustrial and ACP Digital, the digital business unit of the ACP Group, joined forces to take industrial companies from a first roadmap to a running pay-per-use model: consulting, a shared technology platform and digital services in one package.

ACP Digital

Vienna, 29 June 2022. Findustrial and ACP Holding Digital AG announced a strategic partnership. ACP Digital was founded in 2019 within the ACP Group as its centre of competence for digital business solutions in Germany and Austria, with more than 160 specialists in fields such as AI, IoT, augmented and mixed reality, and data analytics.

Together the two companies help manufacturers move from selling machines to providing them for a usage-based fee, including service, maintenance and spare parts. The joint offer covers consulting and a tailored roadmap for the switch, one technology platform for processing and monitoring the machine financing, digital add-ons such as predictive maintenance, AR and AI applications, quality control and data for sustainability reporting, and flexible contracts with monthly billing or billing by actual utilisation. For users this lowers the liquidity risk; for manufacturers it means steadier recurring revenue.

Thomas Schrader, board member of ACP Holding Digital AG, pointed out that machine investments only pay off when the equipment is used continuously, and that the partnership helps manufacturers and users deal with exactly that uncertainty. Findustrial CEO Günter Hehenfelder stressed that the model strengthens customer loyalty and stabilises manufacturers’ revenue, and that it has to be tailored, because standard solutions do not fit.

Press release by ACP via APA-OTS, 29 June 2022. Back then the model was called pay-per-use; today it is part of what Findustrial calls Equipment-as-a-Service, see Exploring Equipment-as-a-Service.
